Who can use Online Bookings?

  • Online Bookings are available to both casual and registered members.
  • Users are required to complete an online registration process and should read the site terms and conditions before registering:

How do I register for the service?

Register a new account

  1. From the homepage, select the Register link located above the Basket header on the right hand side of the page.
  2. Fill out all of the fields on display. Please check the Registration notes below if you are unsure of any entry.
  3. Click Register.

Activate your account

An account activation email will be sent to the email address you entered during the setup, click on the link provided within the email. This will take you to the activation page.

  1. Confirm the answer to your security question.
  2. Enter and confirm your desired password.
  3. Click Activate.
  4. Congratulations, you are now logged on and ready to start.

Registration notes

  1. Please ensure you use an email address that you check on a regular basis, as this will be the one that will receive the account activation email. This email address will also be used for payment confirmations and re-activation links in the event that you forget your password.
  2. The card number and postcode you enter must match those that are held on our sports database. If you experience problems with the registration process please check your record details with your local facility.
  3. If you have lost your card a replacement can be purchased from all sites for £2.

How do I log on?

  1. Select the Log On link located above the Basket header which can be found on the right hand side of any page on the site.
  2. Enter your username and password.
  3. Click Log On.
  • You can use the remember me tick box to save your username for subsequent visits.

What do I do if I forget my username?

  1. Navigate to the Log On page as normal.
  2. Click on the Forgotten username link located directly above the Account Information box.
  3. Enter the email address previously registered with.
  4. Click Request username reminder.
  5. An email will be sent to the email address you entered during the setup, containing the username you registered with.

What do I do if I forget my password?

  1. Navigate to the Log On page as normal.
  2. Click on the Forgotten password link located directly above the Account Information box.
  3. Enter your username and the email address you registered with.
  4. Click Request re-activation link.
  5. An account re-activation email will be sent to the email address you entered during the setup, click on the link provided within the email. This will take you to the activation page.
  6. Confirm the answer to your security question.
  7. Enter and confirm your new password.
  8. Click Activate.
  9. You are now logged on

How do I change my password?

  1. Log on as normal.
  2. Select the Change Password link located above the Basket header which can be found on the right hand side of any page on the site.
  3. Enter your current password.
  4. Enter and confirm your new password. Please note that a new password must be at least 6 characters long.
  5. Click Change Password.

How do I make an activity booking?

Search for an activity

  1. Use the search facility located on the left hand side of the page to find the activity you wish to book.
  2. First select the Activity option.
  3. Select the site you wish to make a booking from.
  4. Select the activity you are looking for from the Activity dropdown list.
  5. Select the Date. Clicking into this field will display a date picker from which you may choose the date you wish to make your booking on. Activities for members may be booked up to six days in advance. Activities for non-members may be booked up to six days in advance.
  6. Amend the search From and To time parameters to suit your requirements.
  7. Change the Duration of the booking to suit your requirements.
  8. Click Search.
  • The results will appear in tabular form in the middle content part of the page.
  • Results are ordered by location then start time and also show the cost of the booking.
  • The system will remember the parameters of your last search until you log out. If you wish to start a new search, amend the parameters from the top down and re-click Search.

Add or remove items from the basket

  1. Find the start time and location that you wish to book from the search results.
  2. Click the Add to basket icon (in the last column) associated with that row.
  3. The Shopping Basket page is displayed, this will allow a review of your item.
  4. From here you can: start another search; empty the entire contents of your basket; remove individual items from your basket; or proceed to the check out to complete your booking.
  • To remove the entire contents of your basket click the Empty Basket link.
  • To remove individual items from your basket click the Remove item from basket icon next to the item you wish to remove.

Complete the booking

  1. Review the items in your basket.
  2. Tick the I accept the terms and conditions checkbox. Read the terms and conditions if you have not already done so.
  3. Click Checkout. Please note that you have 5 minutes from this point to secure and pay for your booking.
  4. Confirm the booking by clicking the Proceed to Payment link.
  5. You will be taken to an online payment portal. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the payment for your activities.
  6. On the final Payment Summary page please ensure you click Finish to finalise the booking process. You will then be returned to the Order Confirmation page within the Online Booking Service, where you may view or print your booking confirmation.
  7. An email will also be sent to the address you provided upon registration for the Online Booking service containing a link to the Order Confirmation page.

How do I make a class booking?

Search for a class

  1. Select the site you wish to book a fitness class at.
  2. Select the name of the class you are looking for from the Activity dropdown list.
  3. Select the Date. Clicking into this field will display a date picker from which you may choose the date you wish to make your booking on. Classes may be booked up to six days in advance.
  4. Amend the search From and To time parameters to suit your requirements.
  5. Click Search.
  6. The results will appear in the middle of the page.
  • The system will remember the parameters of your last search until you log out. If you wish to start a new search, amend the parameters from the top down and re-click Search.

Add or remove items from the basket

  • Adding or removing items are the same as the activity booking section.

Complete the booking

  • Completing the booking is the same process as the activity booking section.

How can I view my booking history?

  • When you log on to the site you will see the Account history tab directly underneath the Wakefield Council Online Bookings banner, second from the left.
  • Click the Account history tab to view your booking history.
  • Use the search parameters at the top of the page to filter the results shown in the table underneath.
  • The tabs allow you to select the type of booking you wish to view. By default this is set to show All bookings but you may also filter your search for Activity, Class, Course or Unpaid bookings.
  • Underneath the tabs there is a dropdown list which allows you to select how far back you wish to view. By default this is set to the last month but can also be set to show the last two, three, six or twelve months or all your bookings.
  • Search results are ordered by date and time with the newest bookings towards the top of the table.
  • You can view and reprint booking confirmations for activities or classes booked through the Online Booking service by clicking on the individual activity entry. The booking confirmation will open in a new window.
  • Bookings made in person at any Sport and Active Lifestyles facility will still show in the list, but you will not be able to view or print a booking confirmation for these items.

How do I cancel a booking?

Cancelling a pre-booked activity

  • Pre-booked activities such as badminton, football, squash, etc. cannot be cancelled online.
  • Please contact the site you have booked at if you cannot attend or need to move your booking. Sites

Cancelling a pre-booked class place

  • You may cancel a pre-booked class place online, using the Account history facility, this can be cancelled up to 4 hours before the start of the fitness class.
  1. Click the Account history tab to view your booking history.
  2. Use the tabs and dropdown list to locate the class you wish to cancel.
  3. Click the delete icon next to the class name to cancel your place.
  4. The class is removed from your booking history.

Please be aware that any classes you cancel are still counted as part of the maximum number of bookings you are allowed to make per day or week. At present cancelled classes do not appear in your Account History.

Who do I contact if I have a problem?

  • If you encounter a problem making a booking you can contact us in by telephone or by email, details can be found on the Contact Us page
  • If you are contacting us by email please provide in detail that best describes the problem you are encountering. This will ensure that the correct person deals with your issue.
  • If possible you should provide the following details which can be found on your Booking Confirmation:
    • Member number
    • Booking reference number
    • Class or activity
    • Date and time of booking
    • A description of the problem
  • You should not respond to the auto-generated emails outlined in the above section

Please note that whilst we aim to answer your emails within 48 hours, it is not always possible to do so. If you have an issue with an existing booking you are advised to contact the SAL facility directly, either in person or by phone.

How do I check for messages?

  • From time to time the Sport and Active Lifestyles may need to send you a message regarding one of your class or activity bookings.
  • When you log on to the site you will see the Messages tab directly underneath the Wakefield Council Online Bookings banner, third tab from the left.
  • Unread messages will be indicated in brackets within the tab.
  • Click the Messages tab to access your messages.
  • Your messages are displayed in a table with the newest at the top.
  • Unread messages are indicated by a closed envelope icon.
  • Messages which have been read and stored are indicated by an open envelope.
  • Click on the subject heading to open the message.
  • The messages appear as a popup.
  • If you wish to keep the message for future reference select OK.
  • If you wish to delete the message select Delete.

Complete the booking

  1. Review the items in your basket.
  2. Register your items by clicking on the blue text (anonymous non-member) in one of the tickets. If you are already a member of the sports on-line booking system or if you have used the events booking system previously you can log-on here. New users need to select non-member to enter your details.
  3. Complete all the required fields.
  4. Register all the other tickets to the person carrying out the booking. Your details will appear if you click on the anonymous non-member text in each ticket.
  5. Tick the I accept the terms and conditions checkbox. Read the terms and conditions if you have not already done so.
  6. Click Checkout. Please note that you have 5 minutes from this point to secure and pay for your booking.
  7. Confirm the booking by clicking the Proceed to Payment link.
  8. You will be taken to an online payment portal. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the payment for your activities.
  9. On the final Payment Summary page please ensure you click Finish to finalise the booking process. You will then be returned to the Order Confirmation page within the Online Booking Service, where you may view or print your booking confirmation.
  10. An email will also be sent to the address you provided upon registration for the Online Booking service containing a link to the Order Confirmation page.
  11. You must bring your booking confirmation with you to gain entry to the event.

How do I cancel a booking?

  • Bookings cannot be cancelled and refunds will only be given if the event is cancelled by Wakefield Council.
